At Odds With You
Grey sky, and hot breeze
that melts my icy heart
Trickery says your absence goes unfelt
But the act is failed
Tears rolling are not from laughter
The void remains unfilled and bothersome
Ache renews as day,
synchronized to the waning of heart beats
I lose grip of courage not to long for you
But fall into the ditch of long nights of yearning
Dreaming of wishes at odds with my reality
'Apology tendered would reconciliation meet
A text sent could a response receive'
Yet, abominable is the risk
If with neglect I be greeted
A chance, of course, I could a considerate heart give
But once my heart I gave,
And a lesson, deeply I did learn
Not again to give by a batter
Or my trade a ruin will be made
Hence, resigned I am to the shackles of tolerance,
And patience, as I wait and watch
For the aches to elude me,
If by God they do!
