Rain
I hasten to comfort in fright
When the heavens wage war
My body trembles as the Earth
When Thor clashes his hammer
The sky throws a dark shade curtain
To conceal our mortal eyes
Inyermidiately displaying flashes of Apolo’s fury
Earth stays clear when the sky wails
And Poseidon cackles
For his belly he fills more
With long silver strands
Until a settlement is reached
I keep warm beneath thick cotton and furs,
My mere mortal body
The aftermath of war among gods
Smells like earth and water
Calm, soothing, and tingles the ears
That bears witness to the clear running spring
It tastes like butterflies on petals
Warm and comforting to the flesh
As it basks in the sun’s rays.
