Sorry, But We’re Published!
I know, I know, I said before sundown yesterday and didn't keep to my word.
Well…
Dearest gentle reader, it is because I was occupied with other things like…
Promoting my sister's NEW BOOK!!
Actually, it's her first.
Before I continue, I apologize, again, for keeping you waiting.
Back to the good news.
My sister, Linda Marrick, wrote, edited, and published her first book on Amazon KDP.
It's not yet out for release, but I promise to let you know when it will be (don't worry, I'll keep to my word this time).
This is a big deal for her, for the family, and for me.
For me because tho I've never told her and neither acknowledged it personally, truth is, I can call myself a writer because she first wrote.
As a younger kid, I'd always attempt to write a story after reading a novel, but each time, I get stuck and just give up.
I kept giving up until I stopped writing.
Then one day…
During the COVID pandemic, my sister started a sort of daily letter writing on IG she themed #deardiire.
I'd say you should check it out, but I think she cleared it out already, but you can look her up on IG here.
While doing that, she was also writing a script.
So again, I felt motivated to write.
I started another story…and as usual, stopped along the line.
But something was different this time.
I stopped writing the story, but I didn't stop writing.
I had a friend who wrote good poems, his use of words was…fascinating.
I wanted to write like him, but I didn't have the words or knew how to structure them.
However, I just…wrote.
Then a year went by and I was doing a challenge with him.
We called it 'Dear Mike and Lucy'.
I'd also ask you to look it up but I cleared mine also.
But truth is, the idea of the challenge was birthed because my sister had done #deardiire.
Now fast forward to recent times.
I've always wanted to be an author, never gave much thought to it, but I always wanted it and still do.
But not until my sister told me she was writing a book did I really make a step towards actually writing a book.
It's still a work in progress, but it probably never would have been if I didn't have her as my motivator and pacesetter.
Funny thing is, she thinks I'm a better writer than she is, but I know it's just imposter syndrome.
I’ve read some of her works… I literally learn the rule of 'show, don’t tell' from reading her works.
I'm happy she put her mind to this project and has achieved it.
BACK HOME, her first book, is one you don't want to miss reading.
Like I said, I'll let you know the release date, until then…anticipate.
Don't forget to clap if you enjoyed reading this, drop a comment if you can relate to any of it, and share with friends you think will find this interesting…
And if I haven’t asked for too much already…buy me a coffee.
