The Political Plight

Nigeria

Who’s the world-famous president currently?

Mine.

Yep, you read that right. My president, the supposed president of Nigeria is the world’s most famous president as of today, don’t care what Google tells you.

“Why is he so famous?” you ask.

Well, it’s nothing really.

So…It’s every Nigerians dream to have a good education outside the country. Places like Canada, California, and Chicago are our go-to places.

It’s just when you’re old, the media forgets you’re human and are allowed to dream.

And that was what happened with my president. He only dreamt. He dreamt of going to Chicago State University.

Here’s the thing with dreaming tho, when you begin to see your dreams as your reality, there becomes a problem. Research says such a character is termed MALADAPTIVE DAYDREAMING.

That was the offense of my president.

But not so often does maladaptive daydreaming cost the reputation of a country…now you know why he’s so famous. He’s the first to make that happen!

To begin with, Nigeria isn’t so well-reputed globally, but we’re good and have been thriving regardless. Now, with my president’s situation…man, I don’t know how bleaker the future could be.

Imma let you read up what he really did, so you get a clearer sense of what I’m saying.

I saw a tweet and the tweeter said something about how the security checkpoints at international airports will triple when it comes to Nigerians.

And I was like “I don’t have an international passport yet, so no one will be harassing me anytime soon”.

On second thoughts tho, this incident of scheming and forgery done by the president will not just affect Nigerians at the airports.

No… It’ll have an effect online too. At least that’s what I think.

For instance, you apply for a remote job from a company overseas and they see you’re Nigerian… I don’t know how they would feel about working with you, but reason with me…

The greatest internet fraudster of this century -Hushpuppi, is a Nigerian. Bad enough that we are highly known for being among the top 10 most corrupt countries in the world, our president now proves the whole point to the world as to why we shouldn’t be trusted by faking his certificate…

I don’t know, but fool me twice…and I don’t think international bodies would want to be shamed.

Don’t mind me, I don’t know what the future holds for Nigeria, but here’s what I know;

So long as that man remains the president, whatever image he has for himself, affects the whole country, unfair as that is.

What’s the solution?

I wish I knew. The judiciary have obviously been bought, as well as the electoral agency.

So basically, I’m just ranting my 2 cents here, hoping something can be done, even tho I don’t know what could be done.
