The Thing About Conspiracy Theorists
I never knew they were a thing, but now I know, I don't like them.
But truth is, at one point of our lives, at least one point, we've all been conspiracy theorist.
Could be about a pal, a sibling, a relative, a parent, an enemy, it doesn't have to be big like the one about MJ being in hell fire, I personally have a thing against anyone who says this.
Don't take my word for it. I should have taken the time to read up about Conspiracy Theorists, maybe then I'd understand their goals, you know, see things from their perspectives.
But when I searched for the meaning of "conspiracy", for the certainty of it, and I saw the phrase "usually understood with a negative connotation", I decided that was all I needed to know.
And that's the thing about Conspiracy Theorists. They're always negative.
So it amazes me to find that there are people who engulf themselves in such theories
They live and breath for them. The very essence of their beliefs is rooted in them.
Though it does make sense when you think of it. It's like a Christian and an atheist arguing about God. One would definitely have higher points than the other and the other will go home slightly convinced and to a restless night.
It is same with the conspirators and their listeners, only now, most of their listeners have no points to argue with, because like the congregation in the village church that believe that by acting like they're packing money from the ground while praying, the money will be transferred to their bank accounts and they'll be rich, these listeners are gullible.
They have no knowledge of theirs, no ideas, nor facts. They lack a sense of reasoning and are not curious about the truth.
Rather, they're obsessed with "fighting the matrix", finding the pretext of symbols that are just plain nothings, solving puzzles that aren't there, and seeing beyond a horizon created by the conspirators.
They feed on these because they fuel their ego to believe that they’re better than the rest of the world because they see what we can’t see, beyond the ordinary, or so they believe.
To them, everyone is ignorant but they are wise and full of knowledge of all things.
Don't get me wrong, even in their cynicism, they, like a student who sucks but tries at chemistry, do come up with theories which proof right in the end, but this is only as rare as udara in late January.
However, I applaud their creativity and sense of imagination. Hell, I applaud their boldness at daring to research and speak out whatever be their thought on some ancient art, a cartoon show, celebrity lifestyle or even the church.
And as much as I applaud the Theorists, I'd encourage listeners to listen with more than a grain of salt.
Probably, a "this is 60% fiction" tag should be a a red banner on every conspiracy theory video or written document, cos that is what they are!!!
Hence, not a good enough reason for people to live in constant paranoia over the church being a cult, or the producers of The Simpsons being the antichrist or which celebrity is in the illuminati.
If it is a matter of sense of reasoning, we've all got it. The problem lies with using it, else we'd know that the reason the Bible instructs Christians not to judge, is so that we could live without constant fear or paranoia.
Unfortunately, that’s the thing Conspiracy Theorists have a black belt in initiating. With every video or written documents, people are set on their toes.
If only they could take a glass of salt...
